Please note!

Some leaves can be removed for transport. Despite the care of packing, it can happen that a leaf breaks off during transport. That is not a problem. You can simply cut it off, and a new one will grow very quickly.

Pruning

Pruning a Musa is simple. When a leaf starts to dry out, the fairly thick branch should be cut off near the trunk with e.g. a pair of pruning shears. The Musa gets new shoots every year that grow into large leaves.

Water requirement

The Musella lasiocarpa consists of 80% water, just like almost all banana plants. We therefore recommend that you keep the root ball moist. It should receive plenty of water in the summer months and should absolutely not dry out during its growth season. In the winter months, it is best to overwinter it frost-free and it should not receive too much water. It is best to let it overwinter almost dry.

Power supply

Nutrition is very important for plants. We recommend providing this plant with a good nutrient base by using high-quality Mediterranean nutrient soil. We also recommend adding extra nutrients. Mediterranean nutrient tablets, which you simply press into the soil next to the plant. This ensures the supply of all the necessary nutrients. The plant will then also retain its dark green leaf color.

The Chinese lotus banana likes a sunny spot, but can also be placed in a sunny/partially shaded spot.
